An Amendment to Recognize 11/11

WHEREAS, November 11, 2025 will go down as the darkest day in the City of Redwood;
WHEREAS, An official holiday to recognize the sacrifices, strength, and prosperity of the City of Redwood shall be created: Now, therefore, be it
Enacted by the Redwood City Council that:
SECTION 1. DEFINITION
The Redwood Municipal Holiday Recognition Act shall be defined through its Trello card here.
SECTION 2. RECOGNITION OF REDWOOD’S DARKEST DAY
Section 1 of the Redwood Municipal Holiday Recognition Act currently states:
“The City of Redwood shall recognize the following holidays;
New Year’s Day - January 1st
Liberty Day - January 2nd
Governor’s Day - 3rd Monday of February
Founder’s Day - April 1st
Small Business Day - March 10th
Labor Day - September 4th
Veteran’s Day - November 11th
Thanksgiving - Fourth Thursday of November
Start of Hanukkah - December 7th
Christmas Eve - December 24th
Christmas Day - December 25th
Start of Kwanzaa - December 26th
New Year’s Eve - December 31st”
Section 1 of the Redwood Municipal Holiday Recognition Act shall now state:

SECTION 3. ENACTMENT
This legislation shall go into effect immediately upon passing the legal processes as described by the City Charter.
