Friends, enemies, & those undecided,
I joined this State in 2016, have served as a lawyer (almost) continuously for the past half-decade, which has been my dominant role in this community. I’ve contributed to over a hundred bills (not all became law of course). Throughout my tenure, I’ve worked to ensure Congress passes good law, especially taking into account the impacts to cops and civilians on the ground. In the past, I made expungements easier to get, rose pay, ended stacked citations (>$1,000), made crimes clearer, introduced recalls, and crafted acts to stop abuses of the law.
When the Firestone Forums were unexpectedly lost, I led the work to ensure we were able to continue our democracy. Many people played a role in the temporary elections measures (especially Governor Clonemep), but I was the architect of those measures. I wrote bills which ensured congress and county/city councils could keep working without the forums. Earlier in my term, I led work reforming congress: reducing the number of seats we have; updating the law that governs lawyers for the modern day; fixing absurdities in the Criminal Code; and making Parks secondary.
I am standing as a continuity candidate. We have seen so many new faces in Congress the most recent elections, and that is very much a good thing. We are also seeing a revitalisation with new, more energetic ownership. I want to use this one last term to make sure the hard work myself and others have put into fixing Congress doesn’t go to waste, to ensure the hard lessons we’ve learnt aren’t forgotten. My priority will be making sure the laws we pass, the nominees we approve, continue to be of quality.
You – the people – have trusted me six times before. My story is not without controversy, but I’ve never failed to deliver on my core role of making Firestone better. I have always set out to serve, and serve I always have. I’ve not won every battle (I never got the DPS reform I wanted) but you can’t say I haven’t fought.
